As a jewellery designer and maker, I know how personal or impersonal the creative process can be. We can be detached from our emotions and just create a product as a commercial end, devoid of meaning and emotions. Or we can search our soul, our heart and pour all that we find into our designs. And it can be an emotional process... because like with all self reflection we reach places that are buried deep inside, some of them painful, and we expose them to ourselves, and to the world. And other places are truly beautiful...
It is showing who we are in full honesty, and vulnerability. It is telling the world this is who I am... it can be scary, and yet it can be exhilarating with that sense of leaving the safe shell behind and stepping out into the world as we truly are. Not everyone will see, will know, or understand. But the ones that do can see that beautiful part of you. And become a part of your journey, in a more or less direct way. Because it is a journey, a personal one even when shared with another person. It is a constant learning and discovering of who we are. Nothing is ever set in stone, life and people are in perpetual movement and change. We have many facets, we are made of so many things. Yet finding that core, that deep nature which makes who we are fundamentally and embracing it - that part of us which makes so much sense once we identify it, and feels amazing when we follow it and it is as if everything falls into place. At peace with ourselves, with the world around. In harmony...
It is this very personal journey I started a few years ago after separating from a marriage which for years lost who I was. It has been a long path to who I am today, continuing each day on that path of self discovery, of learning and hopefully growing. And that ongoing process of soul searching has brought to light, and to life, that part of me which was always there, and I could feel at a deeper level, but without knowing what it was. That submissive nature that made so much sense when it was revealed to me. And it is that core part of me which inspired the launch of my brand Love Enchained, which inspires every one of my designs. Every piece of jewellery I create contains my heart and soul... as a woman, coming out on the other side after losing who I was in the last few years of my marriage, to finding who I truly am. An independent, strong woman and a mother, but also a submissive at heart. And I promised myself that I would embrace that part of me fully moving forward, following my own unique path....
It is all those deep emotions and feelings that I pour into my jewellery designs. They are so much more to me than just pieces of jewellery... They are an expression of all I see in an ideal D/s relationship, all that I feel and dream of as a submissive. All that I pursue in my own journey, and I most sincerely hope you have found or find some day...
